The Optima is Kia's midsized family sedan. Until this year, the Optima was basically a clone of the Hyundai Sonata but, with the latter's complete overhaul, the Optima stands alone as a slightly dated but value-packed offering. While the Optima can't match the quality or resale levels set by the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry, it competes well when stacked up against such domestic competitors as the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Malibu. Toss in steadily improving quality, an unbeatable warranty and a price tag that would make Scrooge sit up and smile, and the Optima is a lot of car for the money.
