The H1 is the vehicle that started the Hummer craze. It's the civilian version of the genuine military HUMVEE, complete with inboard-mounted disc brakes, a powerful diesel engine and a whopping sixteen-inches of vertical ground clearance. True off-road adventurers will love the capability, though the H1's size may pose a problem when trails become narrow. As for miles-per-gallon, this car is the quintessential "gas guzzler." However, you won't find the EPA published miles-per-gallon listed on the sticker. This is because vehicles that have a gross weight rating of more than 8,500 pounds do not qualify for EPA mileage tests.
